Create Transaction
Breadwinner can create Payment Methods and Transactions/Payments from an Account or Contact.
- Connect to your payment processor
- Once connected, Breadwinner will bring all historical data (Customers, Payment Methods, Payments, and more depending on your Breadwinner Billing plan) into Salesforce
- Update Page Layouts to see the Breadwinner objects related lists on Account/Contact and Opportunity. This can be done only after you have started the matching process mentioned above.
- Enable Active Mode on the Breadwinner Payments Setup Page.
Select an Account/Contact where you want to create the Transaction. There you will find the New button on the Transaction (Breadwinner Payments) related list. Clicking that will start the Transaction Guided Wizard. You can also create a new transaction from the Breadwinner customer record by clicking the Charge this Customer button.
Below is an example from a Salesforce Account record.
The first step in the Guided wizard is to confirm or create the Customer.
You may:
- Select an existing customer associated with the related Account/Contact
- Or Create a new Customer using the "Create a Breadwinner Payments Customer" option
After deciding on the Customer, you need to confirm the payment method to be charged. Breadwinner allows you to add both cards and bank accounts to the Customer (just like your payment processor!).
At this stage, you may
- choose an existing payment methods of the Customer
- create a new Payment Method
- Note: Breadwinner doesn’t locally store any payment method data. Instead it is done through a window rendered directly from the payment processor which captures the data.
After confirming the payment method, you'll be redirected to the "Charge Customer" section:
After confirming the payment details, click the Charge Card button to create the payment in the payment processor. Breadwinner will push the transaction into your payment processor in real-time, then automatically sync it back to Salesforce.
You can then review the newly created Transaction.
